Airtel’s 5G Network in Mumbai Surpasses 1 Million Customers

Bharti Airtel, India’s leading telecom operator, has announced that it has crossed 1 million 5G users on its network in Mumbai. This comes after the company achieved the milestone of 10 million unique customers on its 5G network across the country. Airtel is now aiming to provide 5G services to every town and key rural area in India by the end of March 2024. The company’s 5G services are currently available in over 140 cities across India.

Airtel’s 5G Plus is currently live in several key locations in Mumbai, including Gateway of India, Nariman Point, Film City, and Mumbai Metro junctions of Ghatkopar & Andheri, among others. With this development, Airtel is offering ultra-fast internet speeds, high-definition video streaming, gaming, instant uploading of photos and more to its customers in Mumbai. Vibhor Gupta, CEO Mumbai, Bharti Airtel, has said that the company is committed to expanding its network to more locations across the city to enable more customers to access these superfast services.

The race to bring 5G to India has intensified in recent years, with several telecom operators competing to roll out the next-generation wireless technology. The introduction of 5G is expected to revolutionize the way people use their phones and other devices, enabling them to access faster internet speeds, lower latency, and higher bandwidth. The availability of 5G services will also be critical to unlocking the potential of new technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR), which are expected to transform various industries in India. As such, the achievement of 1 million 5G users by Airtel is a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards a digital future.
